This D.I.O.R. letter necklace is part of an iconic series created by the Christian Dior house in the late 1980s and early 1990s — couture jewelry pieces that are now increasingly difficult to find, and whose value in the vintage market continues to grow. Their principle is simple and brilliant: the four letters of the house's name, presented as individual charms and grouped into a single pendant, with the O set with a pavé of clear rhinestones for a touch of sparkle that breaks the golden sobriety of the other letters.
This design is so strong that Dior reissued it under the name Dio(r)evolution collection, still in the house's catalog today — with exactly the same concept: D, I, O, R letters as golden charms and the O set with sparkling crystals. Wearing the vintage version means wearing the original of what has become a signature piece of the house over several decades. At 49 cm, this necklace falls perfectly at the décolleté level — long enough to be visible on a round neckline or V-neck, not too long to appear untidy.
