This vintage Christian Dior necklace is a piece of timelessly elegant couture jewelry — the round gold-plated medallion, with its deep black enamel background and raised gold cursive CD monogram, evokes the grand medals and seal stamps of French jewelry tradition, reinterpreted in the formal vocabulary of the house of Dior.

The use of black enamel in vintage Dior jewelry is one of the house's most recognizable and sought-after signatures — Dior pieces from the 1970s and 1980s in black enamel are now among the most prized by collectors, and their value continues to rise in the secondary market.
