The Hermès carré is one of the most iconic fashion items of the 20th century. Since 1937, each design has been entrusted to an artist, hand-printed on 90 × 90 cm silk twill and hand-finished with rolled edges — a traditional artisanal technique that remains the house's signature. This scarf illustrates lush tropical nature: birds with shimmering plumage move among monumental red flowers, all structured by a trellis of golden nets reminiscent of oriental ornamental gardens and 19th-century naturalist paintings. The intense royal blue background accentuates the vibrancy of the reds and golds, creating a composition that immediately catches the eye.
