This large Céline Macadam canvas tote is the ultimate discreet luxury office bag — 43 cm wide, laptop, notebook, books, and case, all carried on the shoulder with that caramel leather band embossed "CÉLINE" that signs the bag without shouting. A piece from the great Céline Vipiana years, which has clearly been used, and still has everything to continue.
Macadam canvas is the most iconic monogram motif of the Céline house — a repeating geometric pattern of diamonds and stylized Cs on a brown background, used across all of the house's leather goods and accessories production between the 1970s and 1990s under the direction of Céline Vipiana. Macadam Céline totes, in caramel leather and monogram coated canvas, are among the most prized large-format pieces from Céline's 90s production — their combination of large capacity, relative lightness, and elegant discretion makes them ideal office bags. When Hedi Slimane took over the artistic direction of Céline in 2018, he delved into these archives and relaunched the Triomphe — simultaneously boosting the value of all original Macadam pieces.
What distinguishes this tote from other Macadam bags on the market is its smooth caramel leather top band embossed with "CÉLINE" in capital letters — a signature directly integrated into the bag's structure, visible and assertive without being ostentatious. The caramel patina of the leather — slightly rubbed on the handles and band, like Louis Vuitton's vachetta — testifies to regular and careful use, not neglect. The 43 × 34 × 11.5 cm format is generous: laptop, A4 notebook, tablet, books, and case fit without effort.
In good overall condition. The Macadam canvas is clean and without major flaws. The corners show slight signs of wear and the leather has a natural patina consistent with its age. The interior is clean with the coated canvas pocket in good condition. Some slight signs of previous use without affecting functionality.
