The Speedy is perhaps Louis Vuitton's most famous bag. Created in 1930 as the "Express," it was renamed Speedy in the 1960s at the request of Audrey Hepburn, who wanted a more compact version of the Keepall. Since then, it has never left the house's catalog — nor the hands of those who carry it. The 25 size is the most iconic: compact without being small, structured without being rigid, recognizable without being ostentatious. Made in France in 1999 in Saint-Pourçain, this example has developed a beautiful, even caramel Vachetta patina on the handles and strips — the handles, slightly darker than the rest, bear witness to regular and careful carrying over twenty-five years. The Monogram canvas is clean and flawless.
