Appointed artistic director of Gucci in 1994 when the house was in crisis, Tom Ford orchestrated one of the most spectacular creative turnarounds in the history of contemporary fashion in just a few seasons — embracing sensuality, refined minimalism, metallic brilliance, and placing the GG vocabulary at the center of the game. Gucci watches from this period bear his instantly recognizable signature, and the 6800L embodies one of its most recognizable versions: a tiny rectangular case with open lugs that allow the steel bracelet to slide through in an almost jewelry-like design, and especially this black dial entirely covered with the embossed GG monogram, transforming the time display into a logo-emblazoned case. The Swiss quartz movement ensures precision, solid steel guarantees longevity, and 3 ATM water resistance protects it from everyday accidents.
