The Macadam canvas is one of Céline's most recognizable signatures before the Phoebe Philo era. This interlocking circle pattern — inspired by Parisian cobblestones — was used on all Céline leather goods in the 80s and 90s, produced in Italy with the artisanal care characteristic of the time. Today, these pieces are collected as historical fashion objects: they represent a particular chapter in the house's history, before its radical aesthetic re-founding. The embossed leather Céline logo medallion on the front, the cream stitching on a brown background, and the rigid clutch structure are all details that immediately place the piece in its era.
