The Papillon is one of the oldest and most beloved models in the Louis Vuitton catalog. Its cylindrical silhouette, originally designed to carry hats, has over the decades become a handbag in its own right. The Papillon 26 — smaller than its older sibling the 30 — is today the more sought-after of the two in the vintage market: its compact size, relative rarity, and instantly recognizable shape make it a choice piece. This one was made in France in 1995, as evidenced by its NO**** date code. The Monogram canvas is clean and without major defects; the Vachetta leather has developed a natural honey patina characteristic of well-worn pieces.
