Nommé d'après l'ancienne commune de Saint-Cloud aux portes de Paris, le Saint Cloud fait partie de cette lignée de petites besaces Louis Vuitton pensées dans les années 1990 pour un usage quotidien : compact, léger, porté crossbody, il incarne le sac de ville par excellence. Le modèle GM, le plus grand de la déclinaison, conserve un format à échelle humaine tout en offrant une véritable contenance — portefeuille compact, téléphone, passeport, essentiels de la journée. La toile Monogram, dessinée en 1896 par Georges Vuitton, s'y déploie sur les faces avant et arrière, encadrée par le cuir Vachetta naturel qui prend au fil des années cette patine miel homogène si caractéristique du savoir-faire de la maison. Discontinué depuis plusieurs années, le Saint Cloud connaît un vrai retour en grâce porté par le renouveau du vintage Vuitton et par la mode du sac crossbody discret. Cet exemplaire fabriqué en France en 2003 réunit tous les codes du beau vintage : une toile propre, une patine profonde, une bijouterie laiton en bon état, et cette silhouette intemporelle qui traverse les modes sans jamais dater.
