Description & Story

The Stella McCartney Falabella Medium in black Shaggy Deer is more than just a bag — it's a statement. Launched in 2009, it proved to the luxury world that an it-bag could be just as desirable without a single ounce of leather, redefining the codes of high-end leather goods for good.

Its name pays homage to the Falabella, the smallest horse breed in the world — a nod to the animal world which is at the heart of Stella McCartney's commitment. Convinced that luxury and responsibility are not incompatible, the designer has built her entire house on this principle: no leather, no fur, alternative materials designed to last. The Shaggy Deer — recycled microfiber with an incredibly soft suede effect — is the most accomplished expression of this.

Its silver metal chain, whipstitched all around the bag in a characteristic pattern, is its immediate visual signature — both a jewel and a structure, it gives the Falabella its rock-chic and minimalist allure. The bag can be carried by hand thanks to its two chain handles, or crossbody thanks to the removable chain shoulder strap.

In good overall condition, the Shaggy Deer is clean and very soft to the touch, with no major flaws. The silver chain and hardware are in good condition. The pink canvas interior lining is clean with light prior signs of use. Made in Italy, sold with Rarr Vintage dustbag — the Falabella, timeless since 2009.
