This vintage Yves Saint Laurent necklace is an exceptional piece of costume jewelry — the plum purple resin triangular pendant, voluminously set in a gilded mounting and suspended from a gilded English mesh chain, perfectly embodies the creative audacity and sense of spectacle that made the house legendary.
Yves Saint Laurent was one of the first couturiers to elevate costume jewelry to the level of high luxury. From the 1970s onwards, he collaborated with exceptional artisans to create sculptural pieces — colored stones, resins, gilded metals — which became as iconic as his clothes. This necklace is a direct heir to that tradition: the domed triangular plum purple resin pendant, with its architectural volume and deep, captivating hue, is a piece in its own right, an object of desire that transforms any outfit into a statement.
The fine, flexible gilded English mesh chain highlights the pendant without competing with it. The extension chain allows the length to be adjusted between 43 and 49 cm to adapt to all necklines — choker-style or longer over a V-neck. In very good overall condition, the gold plating is uniform and without defects. The resin is intact and without chips.
