The Kelly clasp, originally designed for the Kelly bag in the 1930s, is one of the most recognizable closure systems in the history of luxury leather goods: two metal plates joined by a pivoting turn-lock and a ring, lockable with a padlock. The Kelly Double Tour bracelet, conceived several decades later, offers a transposition of it to wrist size — the same clasp, in a miniature version, mounted on a calfskin strap that wraps twice around the arm and closes with the same palladium turn-lock as on the bag. A saddle-maker's jewel, in the purest tradition of the house — Hermès, before being a leather goods manufacturer, was a saddle and harness maker, and this equestrian genealogy is embodied in every detail of the bracelet: the hand stitching, the grain of the leather, the solidity of the buckle. The smooth calfskin in its caramel brown color gives this version all its warmth, a shade that is both timeless and versatile, matching camel as well as black.
