Paloma Picasso has been designing for Tiffany & Co. since 1980—a collaboration spanning over forty years, which is rare in the world of fine jewelry. The house honors her special talent: the ability to find beauty in unexpected places, from New York subway graffiti to a simple olive leaf. Her designs have a free, almost spontaneous stroke that is not found in traditional jewelry.
The Loving Heart is the perfect illustration of this. The heart is traced in a single gesture, as if with a pencil: a continuous line that rises, falls, crosses at the bottom, and lets its two ends extend freely. Nothing is closed, nothing is symmetrical—it is a drawn heart, not a cut-out one. This detail of the overlapping ends is the signature of the model, and what sets it apart from all other heart pendants on the market.
Executed in 925 sterling silver, on a very fine and delicate 40 cm chain. The piece weighs only 1.7 g: it is an extremely light piece of jewelry that you forget you are wearing and never gets in the way under a collar. It can be worn alone for its sobriety, or layered with other chains. The hallmark is on the back of the pendant.
