Born in 1934 by the hand of Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the Alma takes its name from the Pont de l'Alma in Paris, from which it borrows its structured lines and Art Deco elegance. Its dome silhouette, firm and instantly recognizable, rests on codes that have become the model's signature: the double rounded handles, the double zip that runs from one end to the other, the padlock. It is one of the house's most classic and ladylike bags — an object that transcends eras without ever going out of style.
