A 1990s Chanel silk scarf · red background, intertwined gold chains, baroque pearls · the two absolute signatures of the house printed on 98 × 98 cm of pure silk.

Gabrielle Chanel made chains and pearls her foundational aesthetic obsessions. The chain — in gold metal, intertwined with leather — appeared on the 2.55 bag as early as 1955. Pearls, worn in layered sautoirs by Mademoiselle herself, became a symbol of the house long before they were a pattern. In the 1990s, Karl Lagerfeld transposed these iconic codes onto the house's silk scarves — a stylistic exercise that transformed Chanel symbols into wearable artworks. This scarf is a direct expression of this: a graphic and opulent staging of Chanel's DNA, printed on silk with the precision of a poster.
