The nautical theme appears regularly in couture jewelry, rarely in a sophisticated way: it often drifts into the purely decorative. This necklace avoids that trap through its craftsmanship. The shells are stylized, reduced to their essential volumes, and finished in two distinct ways—some smooth and polished, others textured with striations—which creates rhythm along the chain rather than simple repetition.
The chain itself furthers the theme. Its links are twisted like marine rope, giving it a relief and density that a standard chain would lack. The piece holds its own through this coherence: the rope and the seashells share a consistent vocabulary from one end to the other, in a warm gold hue that evokes both the sun and the metal itself.
At 74 cm, it is a long, versatile necklace. Worn as is, it falls low over a fluid dress or an open shirt, with the charms swaying at every step.
