The Marcie was born in 2010 under the artistic direction of Hannah MacGibbon and immediately established itself as one of Chloé's signature bags alongside the Paddington and the Paraty. Its vocabulary is directly borrowed from equestrian saddlery: a rounded saddle silhouette, a front flap highlighted by double horseshoe-shaped stitching—the model's visual signature—two hand-braided handles finished with massive gold rings, and a small leather tab that hangs down under the bag like on vintage riding satchels. Nothing is decorative in the strict sense: every detail cites a functional object, and it is this coherence of references that gives the Marcie its immediate appeal.
The blue color is one of the rarest variations of the line—the Marcie is most often sought after in black or camel, and this shade adds something more contemporary and dressed-up, which pairs just as well with denim as with winter neutral basics. The 31 × 23 × 7 cm format makes it a true day bag: planner, large wallet, passport, phone, glasses case—everything fits without distorting the saddle silhouette. It can be worn by hand for an appointment, on the shoulder for the day, or crossbody for hands-free wear thanks to the removable and adjustable strap up to 116 cm—three uses in one object.
