A Chanel CC brooch from Fall-Winter 1988 · gold-plated metal, embossed double C, radiating striped background · the house's logo reduced to its essence, uncompromising.

In 1983, Karl Lagerfeld became the artistic director of Chanel and entrusted costume jewelry to Victoire de Castellane in 1984. Together, they redefined the house's jewelry: pieces became bolder, the double CC was showcased as a motif in its own right rather than a simple signature. It was during this period — between 1984 and 1990 — that some of the most sought-after Chanel jewelry pieces by collectors were produced. The season code dating system, introduced by de Castellane, now allows precise identification of each piece from this period.

This round brooch, 3.5 cm in diameter, features an embossed double CC on a radiating striped gold-plated metal background. Pin closure on the back. Chanel hallmark engraved on the back with serial number 1188 corresponding to the Fall-Winter 1988 collection, Made in France. Uniform gold plating, good overall condition, no major flaws.
