Annie Faivre is one of the most iconic artists in the history of the Hermès carré. Her style is immediately identifiable: dense and intricate compositions, intense chromatic palettes, subjects drawn from civilizations around the world. "L'Art des Steppes", released in 1991, is one of her most sought-after works. She depicts the horses of the Eurasian steppes — a tutelary figure of Hermès — richly harnessed with complex Moghul carpets. An invitation to travel to the nomadic civilizations of Central Asia, told with the precision of an oriental miniature. The coloring of this piece — taupe borders on an ivory background, with orange, ochre, rust, and lavender blue motifs — makes it a particularly subtle and elegant version, easy to wear in any season.
