Description & histoire

Grand châle Chanel en 100 % soie · 135 × 135 cm · imprimé fleurs, feuillages et rangs de perles sur fond noir · rouge, vert, violet et or · bords roulottés main · made in Italy · grade B.

Sur un fond noir profond se déploie une composition dense de fleurs et de feuillages stylisés, cerclés d'or comme des cabochons sertis, entrelacés de longs rangs de perles blanches. C'est un imprimé qui emprunte directement au vocabulaire de la joaillerie fantaisie de la maison : les perles, les pierres de couleur, les montures dorées. Le motif s'organise en couronnes concentriques qui se resserrent vers le centre, laissant respirer le noir, et la signature Chanel apparaît imprimée dans un angle.

Le carré de soie est chez Chanel un objet à part entière, au même titre qu'un sac ou une veste en tweed. Celui-ci est tissé et imprimé en Italie, en 100 % soie, et fini par des bords roulottés main — cet ourlet roulé et cousu à la main qui donne au carré son léger relief sur le pourtour et sa tenue si particulière lorsqu'on le noue.

Le format 135 × 135 cm change tout. À cette taille, la pièce sort de la catégorie du foulard : elle se porte en châle sur les épaules, se plie en triangle autour du cou, s'enroule en bandeau dans les cheveux, ou se noue directement à la taille en jupe portefeuille sur un maillot ou un jean. Le fond noir la rend étonnamment facile à associer, malgré la richesse des couleurs.

Bon état général, grade B — cet exemplaire présente de légers signes d'utilisation antérieure, sans défaut majeur à signaler : aucun trou, aucune odeur. La soie a conservé sa main et son tombé, les couleurs sont franches. Nettoyage à sec uniquement.
