The Single Flap remains the archetype of the Chanel bag, carried by generations since the 1955 2.55. On this piece, the chevron quilting in smooth calfskin provides a more graphic look than the traditional diamond pattern, while the CC charm suspended from the chain—a detail the house offered on several generations of Single Flaps—signs the piece. The CC turnlock clasp bears the "Chanel Paris" hallmark, one of the most sought-after authenticity marks by collectors on vintage items. The black cotton twill lining, more structured than faux suede, is characteristic of Chanel interiors from this period.
