The Pochette Papillon was born as an accessory included inside the Papillon bag — a mini-cylinder attached by a strap, designed to organize small items in the bag's main compartment. Many of these pouches ended up living their own lives, detached from their original bags, and have become sought-after accessories in their own right. Their miniature, immediately recognizable tubular format makes them an object at the intersection of an evening clutch and a pocket essential holder.
The Monogram canvas is clean and in good condition. The Vachetta leather — the untreated natural leather that forms the handle and trim — is in a light shade, a sign of a still young patina. There is some rubbing on the handle (see photos), consistent with the C+ grade and the item's use. The corners are in good condition and the gold-tone brass hardware is in very good condition with light patina.
The volume is intentionally minimal: 16 × 7 cm, enough to slip in a lipstick, a card holder, or keys and AirPods. A mobile phone does not fit — this is an important point to note before purchase. It is a format designed for traveling light, or for structuring the interior of a larger bag.
Fair condition, grade C+ — the canvas is clean, the interior is clean without stains or odors. The rubbing is concentrated on the Vachetta leather handle. No major defects to report. The pouch will be delivered with a RARR Vintage dustbag and a RARR Vintage certificate of authenticity.
