This bag borrows the language of a postal envelope—a V-flap, geometric leather panels defining the folds of a letter—and applies it to a flat, structured crossbody shape. It is one of the most graphic silhouettes in the vintage Céline catalogue: the flap creates sharp diagonal lines, reinforced by the caramel leather piping that traces every seam. The leather Céline crest, embossed with the coat of arms, is placed at the center of the flap like a wax seal.
The Macadam coated canvas is clean, with no flaws to report. This motif of interlocking arcs on a dark brown background is the most immediately recognizable signature of the historic Céline, from before the Hedi Slimane rebranding. The caramel brown leather details—piping on the edges, flap tab, shoulder strap—have developed a lovely patina over time, that warm, golden hue only natural leather acquires with use.
The flat format is designed for discreet, hands-free crossbody wear. The bag opens via a magnetic snap button under the flap, revealing a main compartment spacious enough for a mobile phone, compact wallet, passport, keys, and lipstick. An interior zipped pocket allows you to organize smaller items. The interior is in good condition with signs of use; there is slight discoloration on the zipper inside the pocket, which is not very visible during use.
