Le Papillon décline chez Céline la forme boston — ce sac tonneau arrondi, aussi souple à porter qu'élégant à l'œil. Il est ici travaillé dans la toile Macadam, le monogramme historique de la maison, dont le motif all-over fond marron se marie à un cuir lisse caramel qui vient dessiner les anses, les tranches et les finitions.
